Minding your own business

April 28, 2009

“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you,” 1Thessalonians 4:11

The thing about gossip mongers is that they like to discuss about things and people that have nothing to do with them.

Deciphering me

April 24, 2009

Thanks to crystal’s wonderful rendition of “deciphering me”, the song had been stuck in my head. hehs

Oh can you feel the gravity falling? Calling us home…

My afternoon is spent going through the journalism text and doing up the notebooks for the girls. Hahs if only every afternoon would be as such…

Well, bit by bit I am cancelling things off the to do list… which seems like never-ending.

Work….work…work…gosh I am feeling lazy already!

On relating with God.

April 20, 2009

I was bemused lately when someone told me what I say draws her away from God when I merely tell her what is right.

Of coz not everything that people will say will always be right, we need to be discerning. But why, people often blame others for their weaken relationship with God? Because he says, she says? Like come on, isn’t relationship simply between two people? Why focus so much on what others have to say, instead of finding out more about the other party, and in this case God himself.

It sound so so so so so clichés, but it’s true that reading the bible really helps.

For example, I am so blessed by the scripture I am reading today.

7-13“The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:

Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right;
Do what’s best— as above, so below.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.
You’re in charge!
You can do anything you want!
You’re ablaze in beauty!
Yes. Yes. Yes.

14-15“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.

Matthew 6:7-15

Sometimes, I get so absorbed by the issues and problems happening around, but when I read the bible, I get a whole paradigm shift altogether. And it helps me in my prayer life too, coz I have a better idea who I am relating too.

So even if it’s 4am, I will still make it a point to have my portion of the word 🙂

I cannot imagine a day without it. I think I will be so OFF.

The Chanel Guitar

April 16, 2009

untitled-1

I am like all smiles when I see this =)

But practically speaking, I don’t think it’s a good guitar. The neck is too fat!

chanel_guitar_butterboomStill, it’s nice to look at.

Perhaps, they should team up with Taylor.

To come up with a Chanel-Taylor series with cindy inlays on it’s neck

My goodness! That will truly be my dream guitar =)

Will be good if it is made of composite carbon. HEHEHEHE!

This is so funny!

The Letter A

April 9, 2009

Some time back, I asked a couple of people around me, what is the difference between acceptance and avoidance? I did not receive any satisfactory answer.

And I realise the key difference is in the basis of which we decide to move on.

You see, when we choose to either accept or avoid a situation, we are taking a step to move away from the situation.

When we accept a situation, albeit unpleasant, we are able to see what is beneficial for us and others.

When we avoid a situation, it could feel alittle easier, but it done at the expense of another, either us or the other.

Acceptance though painful at times, will solve issues in the long run.

Avoidance will alleviate the pains from issue for a while, but issues will still remain unresolved.

Some say, it’s easier said than done.

For me, I will always strive to do what I say.

Not that I am strong or good, but simply coz life is too short to let myself down.

Distances

April 8, 2009

Over time, instances and circumstances, I realise what bridges and separates people is neither geographical distances nor a long span of time.

The key is, values and beliefs.
